At Hot Yoga Syracuse, our mission is to provide a welcoming and inclusive space for individuals to explore the physical and mental benefits of Hot Yoga, Movement Medicine & Meditation. We believe that hot yoga is for every Body over the age of 14 and strive to create a safe & supportive community for all of our students. Please consult with a Doctor if you have any heat related issues or are sensitive to the heat. Hot Yoga should be avoided by expectant Mothers & those with respiratory conditions like asthma.
~Hydration~ Hot Yoga Classes have high heat and at least a 40% high humidity level, which can cause excessive perspiration and a higher risk of dehydration. It is so important to be Hydrated before, during and after class. (try a pinch of Celtic Sea Salt and Lemon in Spring Water). (See Hydration Recipes on Recipes Page).
~Observe your Diet~ Eat light, healthful meals throughout out the day leading up to your class. If you tend to be low salt or sugar...please have a light, healthful snack at least an hour before class like Fruit. (Try to avoid energy drinks or coffee due to Adrenal Fatigue).
~How to Dress~ Select clothing that won't restrict your movement and will still feel comfortable even after getting sweaty. Suggestions for Women-tight shorts with a tank top or sports bra. Men-Casual shorts. We have Full Locker Rooms with Showers and a Complimentary Towel Service to include Shampoos, Conditioners & Body Wash. Please bring a change of clothes if it is freezing outside.
~Skin~ It is important to remove makeup and the day's dirt from your face prior to hot class. Never mix dirt, sweat, makeup, oil and bacteria...this is a recipe for a Skin disaster.
~Body~ Being in the Hot Room doesn't necessarily mean that you have to be moving and keeping up with the Teacher's instructions the entire time. Child's Pose or Savasana are always available to you. Listen to your Body and know your limits. Please bring:
-Yoga Mat
-Yoga Mat Towel
-Sweat Hand Towel
-Plenty of Hydration
-Change of Clothes
We do have sweat towels and mats on a first come, first serve basis. (No rental fee).
We also have complimentary Spring Water and emergency electrolytes if needed.
